Lettering/Sign Art

As you may know, art comes in many forms. I have long admired "sign art" and particularly that of traditional sign painters or "sign writers" as we are known in the trade. Several of the "fine" artists I know were sign painters back in the day. Bob DeJulio and Mark Pettit are two with whom I will include myself.

Today, this "genre" of art includes everything from hand lettered signs, gilding gold letters on glass, lettering and pinstriping  vehicles of all kinds to include boats and motorcycles.

Unfortunately the advent of the computer and the use of vinyl has derailed many traditional sign painters . This is not to say that there aren't many beautifully designed and well executed signs made today that are a products of modern technology. A true artist/designer can use the available modern conviences to produce some truely outstanding pieces of sign art.

However, my heart lies with the traditions of yesteryear and the beautiful work that was produced by hand whether it was painted, carved or gilded. Within the galleries of my lettering and sign art studio, you will see examples of work that I do as well as some work of others that I admire. I have even included a gallery of old faded "ghost signs" which are still visible on various buildings and vehicles that I have come across in my travels.

If you have the desire or need for some "classic, traditional, hand painted and gold gilded signage and lettering", call me. Let me design and execute something for you that you can be proud of. Properly designed and readable signage is the best investment in your business you can make.
